Rubin Kazan midfielder Ruslan Bezrukov has commented on the injury he sustained during the 29th round of the Russian Premier League match against Spartak Moscow, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the red-and-whites. The injury occurred after a collision with Spartak midfielder Igor Dmitriev, resulting in Bezrukov needing three stitches above his eyebrow. He was subsequently substituted, with striker Jacques-Julien Siewe coming on.

“I got three stitches. Everything is fine, my eye is intact. I’m a Jack Sparrow fan (laughs). It’s nothing serious. These things happen. Football is that kind of sport. I didn’t even realize there was an elbow strike,” Bezrukov told a Championat correspondent.

After 29 rounds, Rubin Kazan sits seventh in the RPL standings with 42 points.
