Real Valladolid will host Real Zaragoza at Zorrilla Stadium on Saturday at 6:30 PM, in what is essentially a final for both teams. The stakes are so high that the match carries all the ingredients for heightened tension.
The Anti-Violence Commission has declared this fixture a high-risk event, even though there is no particular rivalry between the fan bases or clubs. However, the importance of the game for both sides means that any spark could ignite trouble, so authorities have decided to reinforce the usual security measures to prevent any incidents.
As a result, no tickets will be sold at the box office on match day, and the away fans will have the standard allocation of 594 seats, which the Aragonese club has already distributed among its supporters.
This season, Real Valladolid has already played nine high-risk matches, including local derbies at home and away against Burgos and Cultural Leonesa, as well as two games against Sporting and the home fixture against Racing Santander. The return leg against Racing could also be declared high-risk, depending on whether Valladolid has secured safety by then and Racing is still pushing for promotion.
