Sungjae Im holds a slim one-shot lead at 9-under following a second-round 69. The South Korean, who missed five months due to a wrist injury, returned in March and now sits in position to claim his third PGA Tour victory. “I’m keeping it in the fairways, as you see there on the data. It makes it easier for me to hit my second shots on the green in difficult pin positions,” Im said after Friday’s round. “Because of the play with the Presidents Cup, I know where to miss the greens, I’m very familiar with this golf course.” He noted that his putting remains slightly off, while Tommy Fleetwood—just one stroke back at 8-under—has excelled with the putter through two rounds.
“I think the greens are very, very difficult and I just had a really good eye for it over the first two days and I putted well and that’s been a big difference for me,” Fleetwood said. The 2025 FedExCup champion opened with back-to-back 67s and enters the weekend seeking his second PGA Tour title. Im and Fleetwood tee off at 1:50 p.m. ET on Saturday.
