The defending champions China Men’s Table Tennis Team dominated the round of 16 at the 2026 London World Team Table Tennis Championships on May 5. Liang Jingkun, Wang Chuqin, and Lin Shidong each won their matches 3-0, leading China to a 3-0 clean sweep over Australia, advancing to the round of 16.
Australia made strategic lineup changes, fielding Lin Wenzheng as first singles, Sally as second singles, and Lu Wei as third singles.
In the first match, Liang Jingkun faced Lin Wenzheng. After a tight opening, Liang trailed 6-9 but steadied himself, winning five straight points to take the first game 11-9. He continued his dominance, securing the next two games 11-5 and 11-6 with solid offense and defense.
In the second match, world No. 1 Wang Chuqin took on Sally. The first game was closely contested, with Wang prevailing 11-9. From there, he controlled the match, overpowering his opponent with sharp attacks and tight defense, winning 11-1 and 11-2.
In the third match, Lin Shidong faced Lu Wei. Lin quickly found his rhythm, taking the first game 11-5. He maintained his composure and used his solid forehand and backhand techniques to dominate, winning 11-4 and 11-7 to seal the overall victory.
China’s men’s team now advances to the round of 16 as they continue their title defense.
